The Markov-dubins Problem with Angular Acceleration Control

چکیده
We study a modiied version of the well known Markov-Dubins problem, in which the control is angular acceleration rather than angular velocity. We show that an optimal trajectory cannot contain a junction of a bang-bang and a singular piece, and use results of Zelikin and Borisov to show that there are Pontryagin extremals involving innnite chattering.

Optimal Synthesis of the Zermelo-Markov-Dubins Problem in a Constant Drift Field
We consider the optimal synthesis of the Zermelo–Markov–Dubins problem, that is, the problem of steering a vehicle with the kinematics of the Isaacs–Dubins car in minimum time in the presence of a drift field. By using standard optimal control tools, we characterize the family of control sequences that are sufficient for complete controllability and necessary for optimality for the special case...
متن کاملPrediction of Body Center of Mass Acceleration From Trunk and Lower Limb Joints Accelerations During Quiet Standing
Purpose: Predicting body Center of Mass (COM) acceleration is carried out with more accuracy based on the acceleration of three joints of lower limb compared to only accounting joints of hip and ankle. Given that trunk movement during quite standing is noticeable, calculating trunk acceleration in model might increase prediction accuracy of COM acceleration. Moreover, in previous research studi...
متن کاملDubins Vehicle Tracking of a Target with Unpredictable Trajectory
Motivated by a fixed-speed, fixed-altitude Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV), we seek to control the turning rate of a planar Dubins vehicle that tracks an unpredictable target at a nominal standoff distance. To account for all realizations of the uncertain target kinematics, we model the target motion as a planar random walk. A Bellman equation and an approximating Markov chain that is consistent ...
متن کاملDiscrete Dubins Paths
A Dubins path is a shortest path with bounded curvature. The seminal result in nonholonomic motion planning is that (in the absence of obstacles) a Dubins path consists either from a circular arc followed by a segment followed by another arc, or from three circular arcs [Dubins, 1957]. Dubins original proof uses advanced calculus; later, Dubins result was reproved using control theory technique...
متن کاملOptimal Synthesis of the Asymmetric Sinistral/Dextral Markov-Dubins Problem
We consider a variation of the classical Markov–Dubins problem dealing with curvature-constrained, shortest paths in the plane with prescribed initial and terminal positions and tangents, when the lower and upper bounds of the curvature of the path are not necessarily equal. The motivation for this problem stems from vehicle navigation applications, when a vehicle may be biased in taking turns ...
